Volunteers began the Friends of Pompeys Pillar, then known Pompeys Pillar Preservation Committee and later the Pompeys Pillar Historical Association. Then, like now, volunteers played a pivotal role in preserving and protecting Pompeys Pillar. There are many volunteer opportunities available with the Friends group. We invite you to join us in helping to preserve, protect, educate about and create a memorable experience for visitors to Pompeys Pillar National Monument.
Opportunities include:
So whether you like to talk to others or work independently or whether you like to work inside or outside on the beautiful Pompeys Pillar grounds and on the rock, we have a place for you. Training will be provided regardless of the volunteer activity that interests you.
We work hard to create a “team” approach to the various activities and duties that occur at Pompeys Pillar. Volunteers are treated with respect and are frequently thanked and always appreciated. It is the policy of this organization to provide equal opportunities without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual preference, age or disability.
If you have questions, please call the Friends of Pompeys Pillar at 406-969-5380 or stop by the office located at 1523 14th Street West, Suite 2, Billings, MT 59102. If you see the activity you want, please fill out the application.
